About Sunshine Verified
Proof Is the Standard
Sunshine Verified is a free nationwide site for researching the requirements and public resources that apply to a business or a profession, and for finding the businesses that have listed with us. We put those resources, listed businesses, and practical guides in one place, so you can decide with confidence before you hire or sign.
What Sunshine Verified Helps You Do
Public Records
Find official government sources to check licensing, registration, and other available records.
Lumi
Get help researching questions and understanding information. Future document tools may help compare uploaded information with available official records.
Connect
Bring people and businesses together, build relationships, and share opportunities. Membership does not mean a business has been independently verified.
Resources
Find the government agencies, websites, and other resources related to your industry, in all 50 states and Washington, DC. Each state is sorted into ten industry groups.
Directory
A searchable list of businesses and professionals who have chosen to list with Sunshine Verified, in every industry.
Library
Guides, checklists, and links to official agencies. They help you ask better questions, and help businesses keep their public information up to date.
You are about to hire someone, sign something, or pay money. We help you find the official sources that answer the questions that matter, and show you the order to check them in.
People are already looking you up. We give you a place to show accurate information next to the official records they will check anyway. Any industry, not just the trades.
What we are not
- We are not a licensing body. We do not give out licenses or insurance, and we have no power over any license, registration, or official record.
- We do not verify, certify, endorse, or approve anyone. Listing levels only describe how a business appears on the site. They are not ratings or guarantees.
- We are not a government agency. Sunshine Verified is a private company. The official websites we link to come from government agencies. Those agencies are the only ones who can say what is correct.
- We cannot change official records. If a record is wrong, the agency that issued it is the only one who can correct it.
